Petrelex 3D Marine Seismic Survey Environment Plan

Polarcus invites members of the public to review and provide comment on the Petrelex 3D Marine Seismic Survey (MSS) Environment Plan (EP).


Polarcus is proposing to undertake the Petrelex 3D MSS in Commonwealth waters of the Bonaparte Basin, offshore North-West Australia. The survey is located approximately 193 km south-west from Darwin and approximately 120 km north-west of Wadeye.

The survey may commence as early as September 2019 and will be completed before 31 December 2020. The survey will take a maximum of 64 days to acquire.

In accordance with the Offshore Petroleum Greenhouse Gas Storage (Environment) Regulations 2009, Polarcus has prepared and submitted an EP to the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA).

Public Comment Period

Polarcus is pleased to advise that NOPSEMA has published the EP for public comment and review. The public comment period is open until 16 August 2019.
