Peter Rigg Chairman (b. 1948)

Peter Rigg has an extensive background in investment banking with more than 25 years’ experience working in Asia and Europe, principally for Credit Suisse First Boston as Worldwide Managing Director responsible for Asian Equity Capital Markets. Peter is a qualified Solicitor. He is currently the non-executive Chairman of MXC Capital plc, an AIM listed technology investment company and is a non-executive Director of Schroder’s Oriental Income Fund where he serves as Chairman of the Audit and Management Engagement Committees. Peter is also a board director of Cartesius Advisory Network,a Swiss corporate and strategic advisory company and of GEMS Fund III, a private equity fund specilising in Asia, and he is a member of the Advisory Board of South West Energy, a privately owned Company with oil interests in Ethiopia.

Arnstein Wigestrand (b. 1957)

Arnstein Wigestrand has more than 20 years’ working experience in the upstream and downstream oil industry which started as a geologist/geophysicist with Statoil followed by a number of years with Saga Petroleum. He has worked as oil service analyst for a decade for Handelsbanken and SEB Enskilda. Arnstein is currently an independent adviser and investor. He holds a graduate engineering degree from Norges Tekniske Høgskole and a business degree from Institut Français du Pétrole. Arnstein is currently chairman of Haukeli Invest AS and SP Capital 23 AS.

Karen El-Tawil (b. 1961)

Karen El-Tawil has spent 30 years in the seismic industry. She was most recently VP Business Development for TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA, responsible for investor relations, M&A and corporate marketing. Previously she has managed multi-client sales for TGS, and exploration services and multi-client sales for Schlumberger Geco-Prakla. She has extensive experience of the international geophysical sector. She has a degree in earth science and mathematics from Adrian College, Michigan. Karen is a Board member of Pulse Seismic Inc, an onshore multi-client company traded on the Toronto exchange.

Peter Zickerman (b. 1972)

Peter Zickerman has two decades of valuable experience in the seismic industry. He was the Founder of Eastern Echo Ltd where he held the position of Executive Vice President & Business Development and was a member of the board. In 2008 he founded Polarcus Ltd. where he held the position as Executive Vice President & Head of Strategic Investments until February 2016, and was also a member of the board between 2008 and 2012. His experience covers both maritime and seismic operations, strategy and commerce. Peter holds a B.Sc. in Marine Engineering from Kalmar Maritime Academy, Linnaeus University, Sweden.

Tom Henning Slethei (b. 1974)

Tom Henning Slethei has been an investor in the stock and bond market over almost two decades. He is Chairman and owner of various companies within real estate and finance. He has extensive Board experience including as Chair of the nomination and compensation committees, Noreco ASA, as Chairman of the Board, Jåsund Utviklingsselskap AS and Sola Bredband AS, and as a Director at Forus Naeringspark.

Erik M Mathiesen (b. 1970)

Erik M Mathiesen is the SVP Business Development at Siem Industries. Previously a founding partner of Storm Capital Management, London, an independent asset management firm focusing on energy, transportation and real estate in the Nordics. He was also CEO of Storm Real Estate ASA. He has worked in corporate finance advisory in shipping and oil services as a partner for EC Hambro Rabben, London and in corporate banking at Hambros Bank, London.

Nicholas Smith (b. 1952)

Nicholas Smith is a Chartered Accountant with a long-term career in investment banking and as CFO of Asian investment bank Jardine Fleming Group. He has had a successful non-executive track record in the public E&P sector and investment trusts, including seven years as Chairman of Ophir Energy plc, and as board member for several other AIM listed companies. He is currently Chairman of Aberdeen New Thai Investment Trust; Chairman of Schroder Asia Pacific Investment Fund, where he was previously Chair of Audit and Senior Independent Director; and a board member for JPMorgan European Small Companies Investment Trust PLC where he is also Chair of Audit.

Duncan has over 15 years of experience in the seismic industry. He worked with WesternGeco for 10 years supporting marine seismic operations in Europe, West Africa and North America. Duncan has a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering (with Honours) from Monash University in Australia. In 2006 he completed his MBA at Erasmus University in Holland. Prior to joining Polarcus in 2009, Duncan worked for several years with strategy consultancy firm, L.E.K. Consulting, across the energy, transport and natural resources sectors.

Hans-Peter has over 10 years of experience in the seismic industry and was formerly Senior Manager, Business Development and co-founder of Eastern Echo Ltd. His experience covers business development, finance and accounting. Hans-Peter holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden.

With almost 20 years of commercial experience, Caleb most recently acted as General Counsel and sat on the Board of Directors for Sea Trucks Group. Prior to this, Caleb worked for several years at an international law firm in London and Dubai specialising in shipping and maritime issues. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in English and European Law from the University of Essex (UK) and a Master’s Degree in European Business Law from the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands, he leads our team of lawyers as a qualified Barrister and Solicitor Advocate.

Tamzin has over 15 years’ experience working in global multinational companies in the oil & gas industry. Prior to joining the Polarcus team, Tamzin held senior leadership positions, with a focus on Human Resources and organisational change, most recently working for Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA). Tamzin holds a Bachelor’s Degree (with Honors) in Business Studies from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Frans has over 20 years of experience in the seismic industry. He started his career with Delft Geophysical in Data Processing before moving over to Marine Seismic. Frans worked for Schlumberger / WesternGeco for 22 years where he held senior positions in Marine Operations, Land Operations, Personnel and HSE. He joined Polarcus in 2013 to head up the Marine Acquisition group. Frans has a Bachelor Degree in Surveying and Cartography.

Stephen Doyle SVP New Ventures (b. 1964)

Stephen has over 30 years industry experience, starting his career in seismic data processing before joining Nopec as Multi-Client Marketing and Sales Manager. He then joined PGS where he spent 15 years in various Multi-Client senior management positions in the UK, Australia and Singapore. Stephen spent 8 years working for oil & gas exploration companies where he held the position of Director, Global Business Development with Enovation Resources and later moved to Arcadia Petroleum as President Asia Pacific E&P division. Prior to joining Polarcus in June 2014, Stephen was a co-founder and non-executive Director of MCG and President of SEAPEX.

Richard has 40 years of experience in the marine seismic industry, starting his career as a field geophysicist in 1976 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology & Oceanography and completing three years of research in Marine Geophysics at Swansea University in Wales. In 1979 he became co-owner and Technical Director of a high resolution marine seismic company. In 1991 Richard joined Digicon in Houston as the manager of the marine acquisition technology group and subsequently transferred to Singapore in 1996, where he was responsible for the marine business unit for the Asia Pacific Region. He held senior management positions in the marine geoscience organizations of Veritas, CGG and CGGVeritas, in Singapore, London, Houston and Paris, before joining Polarcus in Houston in 2008, to manage the North & South American business unit.

Jonathan has over 20 years’ experience working in the energy industry, with a focus on the Seismic Data Library business. Prior to joining Polarcus, Jonathan worked for Arcis Seismic Solutions Corp, a subsidiary of TGS, where he held several Management positions. In addition to his most recent role as Managing Director, Jonathan was also a Multi-Client Seismic Data Library Manager and Director of Sales & Project Management within the same company. He has also held senior Sales and Marketing roles within the seismic industry, including CGG. Jonathan joins the Polarcus team as SVP Europe, Africa and Middle East.

Cameron Astill SVP Asia Pacific (b. 1956)

Cameron has over 35 years of industry experience, starting his career with GSI as a Seismologist in Australia. In the late 1980s, Cameron had his first overseas posting as Country Manager in Egypt, followed stints by United Kingdom, Nigeria and Singapore – where he has been for the past 18 years. Prior to joining Polarcus, Cameron was the Executive Vice President of CGGVeritas Asia Pacific for over 10 years. Cameron holds Bachelor of Science degree, completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and served as a director of the IAGC, ASEG and ANSIR in Australia and Singapore.

Phil has more than 35 years of experience in the seismic industry. Prior to joining Polarcus in 2008 he held senior technical management positions in the geosciences organizations of Western Geophysical, Veritas, and CGGVeritas, He has worked on projects and with clients in all three of the main operational regions of the world. From 1998 until 2006, Phil was a joint instructor for the SEG continuing education course “Planning and Executing a Marine 3-D Seismic Survey”. Phil holds a BS degree in Geology and a MS degree in Geophysics, both from the University of Connecticut.

EHSQ Manager (b. 1959)

Alan has more than 30 years industry experience, beginning his career with Geophysical Services Inc. (GSI) in 1981. He held senior technical, management and latterly EHSQ positions with GSI, Halliburton Geophysical Services, Geco-Prakla, Western-Geco and Schlumberger Oilfield before leaving the oilfield industry in 2003. Alan then held the HSE Managers position in Perth Western Australia with Transfield Worley, an EPCM company executing brownfield projects for Woodside both onshore and offshore. Prior to joining Polarcus Alan was a senior consultant with JMJ Associates. Alan holds the NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management and is highly experienced in integrated management systems, risk management, incident investigation and auditing.
