Mike Mannering Chairman (b. 1952) Chairman (b. 1952)

Mike Mannering is an experienced Chairman and Non-Executive Director with a long career in oilfield services including many senior corporate positions in Schlumberger as well as Chairman and, subsequently, Non-Executive Director of Songa Offshore until its acquisition by Transocean. Mike has a BSc (First Class) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southampton.

Karen El-Tawil (b. 1961)

Karen El-Tawil has spent over 30 years in the seismic industry. She retired from TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA in 2012 as VP, Business Development, responsible for investor relations, M&A and corporate marketing. Previously, she has managed multi-client sales for TGS, and exploration services and multi-client sales for Schlumberger Geco-Prakla. She has extensive experience of the international geophysical sector. Karen has a degree in earth science and mathematics from Adrian College, Michigan. Mrs El-Tawil is a Board member of Pulse Seismic Inc, an onshore multi-client company traded on the Toronto exchange.

Peter Zickerman (b. 1972)

Peter Zickerman has two decades of valuable experience in the seismic industry. He was the Founder of Eastern Echo Ltd where he held the position of Executive Vice President & Business Development and was a member of the board. In 2008 he founded Polarcus Ltd. where he held the position as Executive Vice President & Head of Strategic Investments until February 2016, and was also a member of the board between 2008 and 2012. His experience covers both maritime and seismic operations, strategy and commerce. Peter holds a BSc in Marine Engineering from Kalmar Maritime Academy, Linnaeus University, Sweden.

Nicholas Smith (b. 1951)

Nicholas Smith is a Chartered Accountant with a long-term career in investment banking and as CFO of Asian investment bank, Jardine Fleming Group. He has had a successful non-executive track record in the public E&P sector and investment trusts, including seven years as Chairman of Ophir Energy plc, and as Board member for several other London listed companies. He is currently Chairman of Aberdeen New Thai Ltd, Chairman of Schroder Asia Pacific Ltd, where he was previously Chair of Audit and Senior Independent Director; and a Board member for JP Morgan European Small Companies Ltd where he is also Chair of Audit. Nicholas is FCA approved and holds a BA from the Open University.

Tom Henning Slethei (b. 1974)

Tom Henning Slethei has been an investor in the stock and bond market for more than two decades. He is Chairman and owner of various companies within real estate and finance. He has extensive Board experience including as Chair of the nomination and compensation committees, Noreco ASA, as Chairman of the Board, Jåsund Utviklingsselskap AS and Sola Bredband AS, and as a Director at Forus Naeringspark.

Erik M Mathiesen (b. 1970)

Erik Mathiesen is an independent advisor. He was until January 2017 a founding partner of Storm Capital Management, London, an asset management company focusing on energy, transportation and real estate in the Nordics. He was also CEO of Storm Real Estate ASA until August 2016. He has worked in corporate finance advisory in shipping and oil services as a partner for EC Hambro Rabben, London and in corporate banking at Hambros Bank, London.

Monish Sahni (b. 1963)

Monish Sahni is a senior finance professional with 30 years’ experience in banking and hedge funds across Europe, Asia and the US. He is a highly experienced transactor, analyst and risk manager with extensive credit and deal skills. He has diverse sector experience including the shipping and logistics industries, offshore drilling, oil services and industrials. He was a senior banker with Citigroup in New York, Hong Kong and London, a senior credit analyst at CQS LLP in London and currently is an Advisor at Auld Partners in London. He is a British national and is resident in the UK. Monish has an MBA and a BA from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.

Duncan has over 15 years of experience in the seismic industry. He worked with WesternGeco for 10 years supporting marine seismic operations in Europe, West Africa and North America. Duncan has a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering (with Honours) from Monash University in Australia. In 2006 he completed his MBA at Erasmus University in Holland. Prior to joining Polarcus in 2009, Duncan worked for several years with strategy consultancy firm, L.E.K. Consulting, across the energy, transport and natural resources sectors.

Hans-Peter has over 10 years of experience in the seismic industry and was formerly Senior Manager, Business Development and co-founder of Eastern Echo Ltd. His experience covers business development, finance and accounting. Hans-Peter holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden.

Lars has over 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining the Polarcus team, Lars held several leadership positions with focus on operations, global sales and marketing as well as business development within Maersk, most recently Chief Commercial Officer. Lars holds a degree in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School as well as a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Aarhus.

With almost 20 years of commercial experience, Caleb most recently acted as General Counsel and sat on the Board of Directors for Sea Trucks Group. Prior to this, Caleb worked for several years at an international law firm in London and Dubai specialising in shipping and maritime issues. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in English and European Law from the University of Essex (UK) and a Master’s Degree in European Business Law from the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands, he leads our team of lawyers as a qualified Barrister and Solicitor Advocate.

Tamzin has over 15 years’ experience working in global multinational companies in the oil & gas industry. Prior to joining the Polarcus team, Tamzin held senior leadership positions, with a focus on Human Resources and organisational change, most recently working for Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA). Tamzin holds a Bachelor’s Degree (with Honors) in Business Studies from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Phil has more than 35 years of experience in the seismic industry. Prior to joining Polarcus in 2008, he held senior technical management positions in the geosciences organizations of Western Geophysical, Veritas, and CGGVeritas, He has worked on projects and with clients in all three of the main operational regions of the world. From 1998 until 2006, Phil was a joint instructor for the SEG continuing education course “Planning and Executing a Marine 3D Seismic Survey”. Phil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and a Masters degree in Geophysics, both from the University of Connecticut.

Andy Lambert VP Global Sales

Andy has over 25 years of experience in the marine seismic industry, starting his career as a Field Geophysicist for Western Geophysical in 1989 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Physics from Bangor University in Wales. Prior to joining Polarcus in 2018, he held various regional and global sales and operational roles within CGG, OHM and WesternGeco in locations as diverse as Singapore, Angola, Kazakhstan, Indonesia Malaysia and the USA.



John has more than 25 years of seismic industry experience. John joined WesternGeco in 1992 and worked internationally for 14 years in different managerial roles within operations, sales and business development. In 2013, he joined Polarcus from Kazakhstan where he held the position of Chief Operating Officer of Caspian Services Inc., a publicly listed oil field services company. John has a Bachelor of Science in Surveying and Mapping Sciences from the University of East London.


Richard Price VP NASA VP NASA

Richard has 40 years of experience in the marine seismic industry, starting his career as a Field Geophysicist in 1976 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology & Oceanography and completing three years of research in Marine Geophysics at Swansea University in Wales. In 1979, he became co-owner and Technical Director of a high resolution marine seismic company. In 1991, Richard joined Digicon in Houston as the manager of the marine acquisition technology group and subsequently transferred to Singapore in 1996, where he was responsible for the marine business unit for the Asia Pacific Region. He held senior management positions in the marine geoscience organizations of Veritas, CGG and CGGVeritas, in Singapore, London, Houston and Paris, before joining Polarcus in Houston in 2008, to manage the North & South American business unit.



Jai is a graduate in Applied Environmental Geology with a Master of Science in Oceanography, and has almost 20 years of diversified experience in the seismic industry. He began his career as a QC & Processing Geophysicist for Veritas where he was based offshore and in the UK. He then relocated to Perth, Australia to become a Project Geophysicist for CGG before joining Polarcus in 2010 as Sales Manager. He has held senior management positions within the Marketing, Sales and Multi-Client departments in the company in both Dubai and Singapore, where he is now based.

Simon Hodgkinson VP Operations VP Operations

Simon is a Master Mariner with over 30 years' experience, with the last 25 years in the seismic industry. He began in the seismic industry as a deck officer for Western Geophysical where he worked on a variety of vessels and positions. He sailed as a Master on several vessels for WesternGeco and with various periods in the office before joining Polarcus in January 2009 as fleet Captain. He moved into the Dubai office in 2011 where he has held a variety of management positions in the operations department.



Jon has over 20 years of experience working domestically and in international postings in the upstream oil and gas industry in progressively more senior frontline, regional and global roles for international Oil companies and Major Contractors. His focus has been in Production Operations; Major Projects and HSE roles. Jon has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Heriot Watt Universality; Master of Science in Safety Engineering, Reliability & Risk Management from Aberdeen University and a Master of Business Administration with specialism in Leadership from Strathclyde University.
