Polarcus achieves company wide ISO and OHSAS Certification
26 Sep 2010
Following an extensive process, the Polarcus Group on 17 September 2010 achieved certification in ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety). The ISO and OHSAS standards are formalized business processes that are consistently monitored and continually improved. The certification covers both the Company's head office and seismic vessels, including both maritime and seismic departments. The Certificates were formally presented by DNV (Det Norske Veritas) at a ceremony at Polarcus' Dubai offices on 26 September 2010.
"With this tremendous achievement, Polarcus has become the first and only seismic company to be fully certified to all three internationally recognized standards," commented Rolf Ronningen, CEO Polarcus. "It provides our stakeholders with a very clear statement that Polarcus has invested extensively in environmental, quality, occupational health and safety management systems. Our ongoing focus on continuous improvement facilitates internal efficiencies, enhances customer satisfaction and builds external confidence in our Company."
Internally at Polarcus the above certification tools are used to ensure business is managed by the controls and processes impacting the above aspects of the Company's operations, in addition to assuring the employees are an integral part of an organization that places the highest priority on its people, the environment and on quality assurance.
