Polarcus appoints Philip M. Fontana as Chief Geophysicist

Polarcus announces the immediate appointment of Philip M. Fontana to the position of Chief Geophysicist.
Phil has over 30 years of experience within the marine seismic industry and will provide a leadership role internally in Geophysics. Phil's responsibilities will include the development of the company's geophysical strategy and the communication of this strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.
Prior to joining Polarcus Phil worked for 17 years with WesternGeco and most recently, for 7 years with CGGVeritas. Phil has held several senior management positions within the industry including Manager of Geophysical Services, Chief Area Geophysicist, and Geophysical Manager, based in the United Kingdom and the United States. Phil has also been a technical consultant to the IAGC (International Association of Geophysical Contractors) Marine Mammal Task Force and Chairman of the Science and Research Sub-Committee of the E&P Industry ESA/MMPA Task Force. Most recently Phil was the Geophysical Manager, Marine Acquisition Product Line, for CGGVeritas.
Phil reports to Christian Fenwick, SVP Business Development and Multi Client, and is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
